Meet Marco Haller

A key member of Alexander Kristoff’s leadout train, sprinter Marco Haller of Austria knows a thing or two about going fast on a bike. At just 25 years of age, Haller has been a member of Team Katusha-Alpecin since 2012 and already has four pro victories to his name. He’s also competed in nine classics and two Tours de France. We caught up with Haller at the KATUSHA-ALPECIN training camp in Calpe, Spain.

Marco Haller is starting his fourth professional season and is only 23. He has the experience and is still young enough to have a long career and is already on one of the best WorldTour teams. We caught up with him in Spain to find out more about the Katusha pro from Austria.

Per la nostra rubrica "Conosciamo meglio..." abbiamo oggi con noi Marco Haller, 22 anni tra pochi giorni, giovane corridore della Katusha. Velocista con l'ambizione di arrivare a vincere anche le classiche, Haller si è fatto notare dal grande pubblico per la prima volta nel 2011 quando raggiunge il quinto posto nel Campionato del Mondo Under 23, vinto da Arnaud Démare a Copenhagen. Nel 2012, grazie ad alcune coincidenze fortunate, passa quindi professionista con la formazione russa, centrando subito la sua prima vittoria nella quarta tappa del Tour of Beijing lo scorso ottobre. In questa intervista Marco Haller ci parla del passato, del presente e del futuro della sua ancora giovane carriera.

Marco Haller gewann am 9. August 2009 in Moskau beim Straßenrennen der Junioren- Weltmeisterschaften die Bronze-Medaille. Im Gespräch erzählt der Gymnasiast, was er von Bernhard Kohl hält, wer seine Vorbilder sind und wie ein Österreicher im Radsport-Zirkus angesehen wird.
