Il est le dernier vainqueur du Tour de Tasmanie, l’épreuve chère à Richie Porte (vainqueur en 2009) et Cadel Evans (vainqueur en 1999). Il est aussi le médaillé de bronze du dernier championnat d’Australie du contre la montre derrière les maîtres mondiaux de la spécialité comme Rohan Dennis et Luke Durbridge, l’australien Benjamin Dyball est l’un des meilleurs grimpeurs de son pays et s’est livré à un belle bagarre avec un certain Chris Froome sur le Sun Tour 2016. En 2011, il fut aussi le champion d’Australie sur route espoirs devançant en solitaire un certain Nathan Haas.

When the UniSA-Australia national team was revealed for next week’s Tour Down Under, it was something of a surprise to see that Ben Dyball’s name wasn’t on the list. The 27-year-old climber has had a terrific start to the year, finishing third in the Nationals time trial before putting in a strong ride in the road race a few days later.

Ben Dyball won the 2010 Canberra Tour, leading the three stage race from start to finish. His victory is the first overall win for Virgin Blue-RBS Morgans in a Cycling Australia National Road Series round, the squad having made its debut at the season opening Mersey Valley Tour.
