Non più commissario tecnico della Squadra, come l’hanno ribattezzata gli avversari per rispettare quella che — verrebbe voglia di dire da sempre — viene considerata la formazione più forte, più prestigiosa, la più carismatica e, spesso ma non sempre, la più compatta e solidale. “Il Grillo”, com’era chiamato per i suoi improvvisi scatti, molla il comando e torna in gruppo. È un pomeriggio toscano nel suo sole, obliquo, nei suoi profumi, invernali, nel suo spirito, quello malinconico ma profondamente cosciente ed estremamente umano, in cui si celebra il funerale di un uomo di ciclismo, toscano, innamorato di questo mondo: Stefano Benvenuti.
