After suffering an injury setback in 2014, Joe Dombrowski got back on track last year as he builds on his potential as a future Grand Tour contender. I’m looking forward to the Vuelta
Cafe Roubaix, Cafe Roubaix, 21 Augustus 2015
Among the riders making their debut in the 70th edition of the Vuelta a España – the season’s third and final Grand Tour – there will be also Joe Dombrowski, who comes here after taking a breakthrough win at the Tour of Utah, where he put years of suffering behind and enjoyed his finest moment since turning pro. The 24-year-old will be one of the many Cannondale-Garmin cyclists hoping to shine and thus get a stage win, and although this is going to be his maiden three-week race and he starts as an outsider, Dombrowski shouldn’t be overlooked, as he can turn into one of the Vuelta’s revelations.

Cannondale-Garmin, the best option!
CyclingQuotes, Renaud Breban, 10 December 2014
Having ridden impressively in his first two years at the Continental level, Joe Dombrowski joined Team Sky. But health issues prevented him from performing in line with such expectations. Interviewed by CyclingQuotes, he said that his left leg feels just "as strong as the right now" and "it gives me a lot of confidence heading into 2015". For the next season, he will ride for Cannondale-Garmin Sharp after two seasons with Team Sky.

The plan is to start the Vuelta.
Cafe Roubaix, Cafe Roubaix, 14 Juni 2014
When I spoke with Joe Dombrowski, he was in the French Alps, at Isola 2000, where he was preparing for the Tour de Suisse, which starts today. A rider with a huge potential for the stage races, the young American isn’t bothered anymore by the knee problems that troubled him in the first months of the year and is confident his season will become better and better from now on. Then, if he will be injury-free and will reach a good level in August, Joe Dombrowski will start the Vuelta, where there’s a strong chance for him to be among the protagonists and show why everybody tipped him as a future Grand Tour winner since 2012, when he was first in the Girobio.

I want to ride a Grand Tour in 2014.
Cafe Roubaix, Cafe Roubaix, 21 November 2013
Joe Dombrowski is one of the most promising riders in the pro peloton, but before coming into road cycling, he started in mountain bike, thanks to some high school friends, who used to take him to the trails on the week-ends. He was hooked and soon began to dream of becoming a professional rider. With the help of Jeremiah Bishop, a good friend and training partner, Joe made some important steps in his career and in 2011 signed with Trek-Livestrong, the Continental team managed by Axel Merckx.

PEZ Talk: Joe Dombrowski
Pez Cyclingnews, Edmond Hood, 21 Juni 2013
Sometimes a rider comes along and right away you can just tell he has what it takes. We first caught sight of Joe Dombrowski at the Valle d’Aosta stage race, in 2011. Aosta, l’Avenir, the Baby Giro and the U23 Worlds are where the pro talent scouts do their window shopping. At the Copenhagen Worlds in 2011 we caught up with him for an interview and our positive impression of this young man was nothing but endorsed. Last year he went back to Italy for the Baby Giro – and won it. He also took 12th on GC in the Tour of California, fourth in the Tour of Utah and 10th in the Tour of Colorado – and he only turned 21 in May of that year and we interviewed him again as a man on the way up. Dombrowski rode for Trek Livestrong during seasons 2010/11 with the squad becoming Trek Bontrager for season 2012 – but for 2013 made the leap to World Tour with current world number one ranked team, Sky. He’s already tasted victory as part of the successful Sky squad which won the TTT at the Giro del Trentino in April.

For neo-pro Joe Dombrowski, ambition meets reality
VeloNews, Matthew Beaudin, 29 Januari 2013
Just one year ago, the precocious young American was racing the SRAM Tour of the Gila and attacking from under the radar at the Amgen Tour of California. He was sitting in lawn chairs in the shade after races with his Bontrager-Livestrong amigos. Two years ago, the 6-foot-1-inch, 141-pounder was a Cat. 4.
