Il est l’un des plus grands espoirs du cyclisme africain, Louis Meintjes, coureur complet âgé de 22 ans, est l’un des éléments forts du team MTN QHUBEKA. Vice champion du Monde sur route espoirs et élu cycliste africain de l’année 2013 par un jury composé de Bernard Hinault et Chris Froome, entre autres, il a remporté le titre national en Afrique du Sud cette saison (espoirs et élites) sur la route et sur le contre-la-montre. Sur la Vuelta, le jeune Meintjes était là pour apprendre pour son premier grand tour et s’est fait plaisir comme le prouve sa 5ème place sur la 14ème étape. Son regard se porte désormais sur les plus grandes courses européennes et pourquoi pas briller sur le Tour de France.
