SIMON CLARKE
On early-season success, coronavirus, Olympic selection and more
CyclingTips, Matt de Neef, 18 Maart 2020
Simon Clarke (EF Pro Cycling) started the season in imposing form. He took second on a stage at Etoile de Besseges, likewise on a stage of the Tour du Haut Var, and then won the Royal Bernard Drome Classic at his first attempt. It all augured well for a strong Spring Classics season for the Australian, who went eighth at last year’s Strade Bianche, ninth at Milan-San Remo and second at the Amstel Gold Race.

PEZ Talk: Simon Clarke.
Pez Cyclingnews, Gordan Cameron, 3 December 2013
Orica-GreenEDGE pro Simon Clarke has established himself as a serious World Tour hitter over the last couple of years. A breakout Vuelta King of the Mountains title and stage win in 2012 was followed by a solid 2013 topped with a top ten in the brutal Florence Worlds in September. How has this season been and what’s in store for 2014?

He raced his first Grand Tour in 2012, won a stage and took home the climbers’ prize jersey. Simon Clarke enjoyed success in the Vuelta a España last year and he knows it’ll be a different sort of race when he lines up for this debut in the Tour de France on 29 June 2013.

PEZ Talk: Vuelta St.4 Winner Simon Clarke
Pez Cyclingnews, Edmond Hood, 22 Augustus 2012
Clarke is another product of the Australian Institute of Sport’s team pursuit ‘production line’: he was a member of the winning 2004 world junior championship team, along with a certain Matt Goss. In 2005 his domestic palmares were impressive; including a GC win in the Tour of the Murray River - but a third place on a stage of the Giro delle Regione showed that the European scene didn’t overawe him.

Simon Clarke : "Je suis très heureux"
Cyclisme Actu, Alexandre Mignot l, 22 Augustus 2012
